John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people through his music. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in affection with Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have been a major influence on many to relocate to Colorado. I don't think there's any other performer who embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver, the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured with this honor in 2011. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. Through my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform people you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time with small folk groups. The track was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver realized that it could become a smash hit when he heard an earlier version. The song was recorded by the singer only a few days afterward following a performance to crowds of enthusiastic fans in Washington D.C.
