John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado that specialized in folk-pop music touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. He eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired people to travel to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many all over the world. When you encounter people from other nations, for instance New Zealanders and say "I am from Colorado" then they instantly respond with "Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief time in folk music bands comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the tune in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single when he first heard it. He recorded it within a couple of days of having performed at Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
